Walk Along the River Deben

After breakfast at Honey and Harvey, Walk across the road to Melton Riverside Carpark, the perfect starting point for a scenic riverside walk into Woodbridge.

This area offers incredible views and is ideal for nature lovers. During low tide, it’s the prime spot for birdwatching, where you’ll often spot ducks, gulls and waders. And, if you’re lucky, you might catch a glimpse of herds of deer across the river.

Along the walk, you’ll see Mrs Pretty’s Statley home and a Hulk of a 19th-century iron steamship, Lady Alice Kenlis, protected by law to preserve our seafaring history. These landmarks are a fascinating glimpse into the past.

Note: The walk from Melton to Woodbridge takes approximately 30 to 40 minutes, depending on pace, and is suitable for all walking abilities.

If a walk isn’t your thing, don’t worry—it’s just a 5-minute drive to Woodbridge, with plenty of convenient parking options available.
